band bio

as you can see our band is called the choking stars. the members are sarah seffner, jessica lorden, and lee bice. we are based in the chicago suburbs, but more specifically we practice in plainfield and joliet two times a week. we havent really been around for too long, the band was started in the middle of june 2003, but a tight bond has been formed between us and as this is being written we already have over 10 finished songs and counting. although we havent been together for too long each member has been playing for about three years. it is hard to really catagorize our music in a certain catagory besides rock of some sort, but maybe thats just because im in the band. our infulences musically are (but arent limited to): alice cooper, nirvana, smashing pumpkins, nin, type o negative, david bowie, misfits, and white stripes, ect. but you get the picture. if i had to describe our sound to someone who hasnt heard us play before i would probly talk less about other bands and more about happyland, candy, and the regular human emotions that our songs are based upon, but that isnt really too good of a description either if you actually want to know what we sound like the only way to find out is if you listen. if you would like to know when and how you can hear us play just go to the contact page and contact one of us, its really not as hard as one may think.
